Duco will provide athletic clothing for the senior, junior, para and development teams when they compete in regional, national and international events throughout the year.
Duco, born only in 2016, has a clear and deep-rooted commitment to sustainability, community and competitive spirit. As part of this commitment, Duco plants a tree for every product it manufactures and ensures sustainable sourcing of its fabrics and materials.
The Team GB kit alone has enabled the planting of over 1,000 trees throughout reforestation projects in Madagascar and Nepal.
The official 2019 kit will be launched at an exclusive invitation-only event on March 29th 2019 in Sheffield.
Head of Competitions for the British Mountaineering Council, Zoe Spriggins comments “We’re delighted Duco have are supporting the GB Climbing Team ahead of a very important few years for the sport. Duco has a very clear alignment to our sustainability goals and this sponsorship marks the start of the next chapter in BMC and Team GB’s history.”
Co-Founder and Chief Executive of Duco, Kieran Miles, explains “We’re obsessed with 3 things; creating garments with a competitive edge, empowering confidence within those who want to push themselves further and supporting a community which shares the same sustainability and environmental values as Duco. The GB Climbing Team fits all three of our obsessions and we’re excited to begin this journey together.”
Kieran adds, “We may be new to the game and we might not be the biggest yet, but we do have courage, heart, passion and energy to do well, and most importantly to do right. We passionately believe in reforestation, cleaning the oceans, investing in renewables and sustainable sourcing. Working with the GB Climbing Team is an opportunity to further share, deliver on and grow these ambitions.”
