Getting Active Outdoors donate £1,194 to ‘Getting Britain Outdoors’
Getting Active Outdoors magazine in association with the Outdoor Industries Associations (OIA), were delighted to award ‘Getting Britain Outdoors!’ with a cheque for £1,194 at the recent Outdoor Trade Show. The contribution will be spent by the Outdoor Industries Association on various initiatives in line with the magazine’s ethos of getting more people outdoors, more often.
Michael Wolstenholme, Group Sales Manager for Target Publishing, the publisher of Getting Active Outdoors, commented: “Outdoor recreation has never been so accessible with 8.9 million people in the UK enjoying outdoor activity. Contrast this with the 18.1 million (that’s over one in four) who simply do not move enough and are putting their health at serious risk. It’s therefore critical that more is done to get ‘the fat man of Europe’ healthier and fitter.
“We are delighted to be able to work alongside the OIA to produce a magazine to inspire people to get active outdoors and it is a pleasure to donate a share of the proceeds to ‘Getting Britain Outdoors’. We’d also like to thank those in the industry who have supported Getting Active Outdoors magazine and the 30 partners who are sharing each issue to their combined 6 million members and communities making it the biggest reaching outdoor publication in the UK”.
