Grangers, the leading aftercare brand for technical outdoor and sports clothing, has launched a new brand ambassador programme, celebrating the end of its 80th anniversary year. It follows news that polar explorer and record-breaking long-distance skier, Ben Saunders, has been signed as the brand’s first ambassador.
Ben, a fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, who has used Grangers products to help keep him warm and dry on all of his expeditions, is now set to play an active role, testing Grangers products, in some of the harshest weather conditions on the planet.
Eight new ambassadors have also joined Grangers including: mountain leader, Lucy Wallace; expedition leader, Erin Bastian; runner, Rory Southworth; adventurers Andy and Gee also known as TwoTravlrs; Ex-Parachute Regiment and mountaineer John Paul McLoughlin; author and adventurer, Nigel Vardy and skier, writer and adventurer Ash Routen.
Karolina Jones, Grangers General Manager, said: “The Grangers Brand Ambassador programme has been launched to support outdoor enthusiasts take on new challenges and look after the gear they will be reliant upon to achieve their aspirations, whether it’s a hike in the Highlands, kayaking a wild coastline or snowshoeing in Norway. I am delighted to welcome all of our new ambassadors to the team. Collectively and individually they are highly skilled, talented and inspirational people who have achieved a great deal in their fields and whose environmentally responsible ethos is closely aligned with Grangers.”
New ambassador, Ash Routen, said: “Three years ago, I decided to make my dream of undertaking expeditions to the world’s highest and coldest places a reality. Crossing the world’s largest frozen lake in Siberia, I relied upon Grangers to help keep me warm and dry and I will be trusting the brand’s aftercare products on all of my future trips including sledge-hauling in Norway and the Canadian Arctic.”
Mountain Leader and wildlife guide Lucy Wallace said: “I’m out in the mountains every day and I’m very hard on my gear. But I need it to last and I know I have to look after it, so it can do the same for me. I also care deeply about the planet and the world’s resources, so it is important that my kit goes the distance. Grangers is the perfect partner.”
Each of the ambassador’s experiences using Grangers’ aftercare products in a diverse range of locations will provide valuable feedback and contribute directly to the brand’s continual new product development process.
