‘Tent Show Gets Green Light for September’

Originally planned for August and now re-scheduled for early September due to the COVID-19 crisis, tent show organisers, MCS have announced new dates for the 2020 Tent & Awning Trade Show at Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire. The show will now go ahead from the 6th – 8th September, initially with the support of a number of core camping brands including AMG (Vango), Blue Diamond / Outdoor Revolution, Zempire and Crespo, Bo-Camp & Narbonne with others yet to be announced!

This is the annual opportunity for all major tent, awning and camping accessory suppliers to launch their seasonal collections and showcase the very latest innovative products to the camping trade. Brands which specialise in the family camping and caravanning market will be working together during the three day show to present their new collections to camping dealers. All the latest tents, caravan awnings, shelters, camping furniture, accessories and BBQ’s will be showcased by the brands that have so far indicated their interest.

Commenting on plans for the show, organiser Alasdair Scobbie from MCS said, “It was uncertain whether a show was possible or not this year due to the pandemic, with shops closed and consumers unable to access the outdoors, the trade has been in a challenging position. However, campsites are due to reopen and outdoor shops are getting back on their feet again. Suppliers need a forum to engage with dealers and their customers again and to present new product ranges and innovations.  We carefully gauged interest and found that there was still an appetite for a show and I would expect a few other brands still to come on board and exhibit together, now as we begin to promote the show. As the show takes place in an outdoor showground environment then social distancing is not a problem either!”

Stoneleigh has always proven to be a popular venue as the easily accessible showground offers unlimited grass for the pitching of tent displays. The timing of the trade show is scheduled at a convenient time to allow brands time to guarantee early Spring / Summer 2021 deliveries by securing production slots with far eastern factories. The new September timing still allows buyers time to assess seasonal retail sales performance to date, make ranging decisions and brand comparisons, all at the one convenient location, rather than chasing around the country to various showrooms and brand launches.
