The UK’s leading Outdoor Trade Show (OTS) is pleased to announce its support of the Britain on Foot (BoF) campaign by becoming a BoF First Funder with a donation towards the Outdoor Industries Association (OIA) initiative that aims to encourage more people to become active in the outdoors.
OTS exhibitors share a common interest in seeing a growth within the market and any efforts aimed at raising awareness of outdoor activities and increasing participation has to be of benefit to the trade. The donation, from show reserves will be used exclusively for the BoF campaign and is a valuable contribution towards the already impressive fund generated from donations from the outdoor trade. Gathering momentum with the recent announcement of government backing, BoF is seen as a very worthy cause and will ultimately have a direct effect on the sales of outdoor products.
In a joint statement, OTS founders said “We recognise the efforts being made by Andrew and his team at the OIA, and together with other outdoor brands wish to demonstrate our goodwill by directly supporting the BoF campaign. This signals a commitment to working towards the best interest of the trade and further strengthens our partnership with the OIA.”
Commenting on the BoF donation, OIA Chief Executive Andrew Denton said, “This donation is further recognition of the importance of the BoF campaign by the trade. We are grateful for this support from OTS and will be using the donation to support the continued growth of the BoF campaign. The entire focus is to get more people active in the outdoors and that has to be good news for suppliers of outdoor clothing, footwear and equipment.”
Launched in 2006, OTS offers a unique opportunity for retail buyers to see all the latest product ranges from leading outdoor suppliers. This year the show runs from the 8th to the 11th September 2013 at Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire. More information at www.outdoortradeshow.com
