ISPO Ski Day by The OIA

The pre- ISPO OIA Ski Day is a one-day annual event that coincides with the ISPO Munich trade show.

The show is Europe’s largest winter snowsports and outdoor trade show and attracts the largest manufacturers, retailers and distributors from around the world, including smaller traders and anyone involved with the industry.

The OIA ski day is supported by Brandwave Marketing and offers you some calm ‘before the ISPO storm’ with an action-packed day on the slopes.

This year’s Ski Day will take place on Friday 1st February 2019, which gives you plenty of time to hit the slopes with us before the 4-day ordering and networking madness starts on the 3rd of February. The ski day is a fantastic way to relax, have fun and catch-up with colleagues or network with new ones.

The event takes place at Germany’s premier ski resort of Garmisch-Partenkirchen which is approximately one and a half hours away by car from the ISPO venue and about the same by train from central Munich.

The event starts on Thursday 31st January with a very informal welcome networking dinner at a local restaurant.

On Friday we’ll arrange to meet either at the ‘Classic’ or ‘Zugspitze’ ski areas, so if you’re interested in joining us please look at the full details below and register your place by clicking the button.

How to Get There

Car / Taxi from Munich: Takes approximately 1.5 hours.

Train from Munich: Getting to Garmisch from Munich is straightforward and only takes just over 2 hours by train from Munich airport. Train fares range between €13 – €25.

The men’s World Cup downhill ski event takes place on the weekend of the 2nd – 3rd February and therefore hotels are busy.  The accommodation has been researched and is available in the small hamlet of Grainau close to the train station and connections to both ski areas.

We have informed the small hotel to expect a few enquiries in relation to this group (rate €60 per night B&B).

General Guidance

The ski day is aimed at good to advanced level skiers. You should be confident on most pistes – certainly up to Red, and ideally happy to ski off-piste if conditions allow.

All expenses are at your own cost, though we will aim to generate some sponsorship.  Please ensure that you have your own insurance arrangements.
