British Orienteering has supported #VolunteersWeek throughout the week (1-7 June)

Thank You to all involved in supporting orienteering!  Volunteers are at the heart and soul of the sport of orienteering.
Throughout the week British Orienteering has celebrated the on-going support given within all clubs, and the impact it has on the delivery of orienteering across the UK.

Thank you to everyone who supports their orienteering club to put on so many events across the UK – it is amazing!  Thank you to all volunteers:  committee members, organisers, planners, mappers, controllers, IT, entries, start times, download and results, the printing of maps, car parking stewards, putting out and collecting controls…the list goes on!

British Orienteering highlighted a few individuals from orienteering clubs around the UK and shone the ‘Thank You” spotlight on them for giving endless hours of time, hard work and energy into the sport over the last 12 months.

Those in this year’s ‘Thank You’ spotlight, included…

Dom Dakin (South Yorkshire Orienteers)

Ben Kyd (Manchester and District Orienteering Club)

Alex Boloux (Edinburgh University Orienteering Club)

David Alcock (Airienteers)
