CRAGHOPPERS SUPPORT #WETWO FOUNDATION’S EXPEDITION FOR YOUNG ADVENTURERS

Craghoppers is once again proud to be partnering with the #WeTwo Foundation – co-founded by Dwayne Fields and Phoebe Smith – on their second expedition, taking 10 deserving young people on an adventure of a lifetime.

Following in the success of the ground-breaking City to Sea expedition to Antarctica in November 2022, where Dwayne and Phoebe took 10 young people to follow in the steps of Shackleton, the new cohort will this time follow notable naturalist, Charles Darwin to the bio-diverse-rich Galapagos Islands. During their time on the Islands the group will have a packed itinerary, organised by Intrepid Travel, taking part in beach cleaning, volcano hiking, snorkeling, birdwatching as well as meeting local communities to see how they are helping themselves out of poverty.

As well as sponsoring 2 places on the trip, Craghoppers will also be providing its new, enhanced NosiLife insect repellent clothing and accessories for all 14 team members of the team. The clothing will also provide them with sun protection and odour elimination, which will be vital as they work on the Islands.

Before they head off in October, the group will be “paying it forward” by doing environmental good deeds in their local communities. The first contingent in 2022 set the precedent with their own innovative and sustainable practices from managing a clothing swap in Liverpool (where people ‘paid’ for their items with sustainability pledges) to rewilding a section of the River Clyde in Scotland. The young people also planted the start of a #WeTwo Forest in East London, as well as a community of trees in the Natural Area of Kew Gardens. The new group will continue this great work and the legacy of the #WeTwo Foundation.

“Having seen the effect the trip to Antarctica had on the young people; how they grew in confidence and how it realigned their future ambitions, it’s clear that Phoebe and Dwayne have created something unique. We are excited to see who they choose this time and how visiting Galapagos will change their lives for the better.” Craghoppers Brand Director, James McNamara.
The 10 young people are yet to be selected and therefore there is still a chance to nominate someone who deserves a place. To nominate a young person from a disadvantaged background to take part, go to www.TeamWeTwo.com and complete the form. Deadline for nominations is midnight, 3rd May, 2024.
