Andy Styan, Equip’s Group FD has decided to leave the business after seven years of service, handing over to his successor Rob Maynard in the coming months
Equip Outdoor Technologies UK Ltd., owner of British outdoor brands Rab and Lowe Alpine, have today announced that long-serving Group Financial Director Andy Styan will be stepping down from his role.
Andy Styan has decided that now is the right time for him to leave as he chooses to focus on time with his family and concentrate on some personal projects.
Andy started with Equip in 2015 and has supported the significant growth Equip has experienced over his time with the business. He has seen revenue growth from £40m to £100m and seen the business employee numbers grow from 135 in 2015 to more than 220 employees now. While the Equip Board and Chairman will be sorry to see Andy go, he is leaving behind a positive legacy, having supported the delivery of goals that exceeded the businesses’ expectations.
Andy will be succeeded by Rob Maynard, who joined Equip on 25th April 2022. Rob is no stranger to the outdoor industry, previously having held roles at Inov-8 and Pentland Brands. Most recently Rob was Chief Financial Officer of BoilerJuice.
Andy is not leaving Equip just yet. He will be around as long as needed, supporting specific projects and taking time to fully hand over to Rob, and share the experience Andy has accrued over the years to ensure a smooth transition.
Matt Gowar, CEO and Owner, Equip Outdoor Technologies Ltd, explains: “Andy’s guidance and experience will be missed, but after a couple of particularly challenging, and ultimately very successful years, I am in full support of the decision Andy has made. We look forward to welcoming Rob to Equip and know he will be able to build on the foundations put in place by Andy.”
Jules Hydleman, Chair, Equip Outdoor Technologies Ltd, adds: “We are sorry to see Andy go, but after careful deliberation and a great deal of planning, we are pleased to announce his successor. I wish Andy success in the projects he chooses to focus on next and hope he enjoys some well-earned family time.”
