New services and fees for 2009

New services and fees for 2009

Membership renewal packs for 2009 will be delivered to OIA members during June. This coincides with the association’s confirmation of significantly enhanced benefits and services. In addition, recognising that the economic climate is particularly challenging at the moment, the OIA is also introducing a ‘pay what you can’ scheme for members that renew for 2009/10, along with an introductory flat rate subscription of £100 for organisations who decide to sign up as new members this year.

Association director Louise Ramsay, backed by the OIA Council, has developed the enhanced services and benefits that the association now offers. These include: free legal advice on employment, contract and commercial law, tax and payroll issues, and health and safety; discounts and preferential rates on a range of business solutions such as printing, online activities, media planning and buying, and marketing; support and representation at trade shows; and free recruitment advertising on OIA platforms.

Other developments that will go live in the next few months include an interactive website that will include facilities and functions such as a members only area offering access to research, toolkits and podcasts, all developed to help companies grow their businesses. The site will also host up to date information and news on issues affecting the industry, as well as a careers area. The OIA will soon launch financial services, including preferential credit card processing and insurance rates. And later in the year, the association will introduce the first of a series of business workshops, which will provide up to date guidance on areas such as supply chain, health and safety, human resources and marketing. OIA members will be able to attend those events at discounted rates.

The enhanced services sit alongside existing and ongoing membership benefits. The OIA continues to deliver market research, campaign and lobby on behalf of the outdoor sector, promote the outdoors to a wider audience and drive consumers to specialist retailers and activity providers.

All OIA members will be receiving their renewal packs in the near future, which will contain full information about services and benefits, and the ‘pay what you can’ scheme. For further information please contact
