Fully booked event in Liverpool/UK demonstrates the importance of sustainability within outdoor industry
Rab (owned by Equip Outdoor Technologies Ltd.) are proud to announce that the first ever Sustainability Breakfast held at the Outdoor Trade Show (OTS) 2021 in Liverpool was a great success. The event was so popular that participation had to be restricted as the demand was extremely high.
The talks given at the Sustainability Breakfast aimed to foster an exchange among the outdoor industry stakeholders on how to achieve more sustainable business practices. Rab gave insights into their long-term sustainability strategy and their steps to achieve Net Zero by 2030. The outstanding attendance demonstrates the high relevance of environmental topics and the need to find common solutions within the outdoor industry.
Among the speakers of the Sustainability Breakfast were:
- Andrew Denton, OIA Chief Executive
- Andrew Green, Chair of OIA Development Board and Commercial Director of Sports Pursuits
- Debbie Read, CSR Manager Rab & Lowe Alpine
- Scott Nelson, European Outdoor Group
- Dave Turnbull, British Mountaineering Council.
Marta Williams, OTS organiser, says: “We are grateful to Rab for sponsoring the first event of this kind at the show and to the quality speakers from the British Mountaineering Council, Outdoor Industries Association and European Outdoor Group who gave the audience of retailers, brands, suppliers and media an informative insight into their own sustainability initiatives.“
Jim Evans, Brand Director at Equip, explains: “It has been a long time since we have been able to come together like this and it was amazing to see so many people seize the opportunity to attend this breakfast event and talk to each other about such meaningful and important things.“
