The OIA is pleased to announce a partnership with UKC UKClimbing.com the World’s leading web site for climbing and mountaineering. UKC will support the consumer voting phase of the 2020 UK Outdoor Industry Awards and, through a close working relationship, will help to build increased awareness of the awards with its audience of end users.
Commenting on the new partnership. The OIA’s CEO, Andrew Denton said, “We are delighted to be linking up with UKC on the promotion of the Industry Awards. It is our intention to continue to enhance the status and credibility of our awards and the tie-up with UKC provides the opportunity to really engage with knowledgeable consumers and encourage them to vote for their favourite products.”
Online voting for the awards will be available through UKClimbing.com and UKHillwalking.com and this will ultimately help to decide the outright winners in each of the ten product categories which include: Accessories, Backpacks, Camping Equipment, Climbing, Clothing, Digital Product, Family, Footwear, Sleeping and Tents.
Entries for the 2020 awards have just opened and the finalists in each category will be decided by a panel of industry judges at this years’ Outdoor Trade Show (OTS) in July. This year’s judging panel will include retail buyers, journalists and equipment gear testers from across the industry. All entries in each category will be exhibited to the trade at OTS, then promoted to consumers at Kendal Mountain Festival in November in conjunction with UKClimbing.
Consumer voting will be available on UKClimbing.com, UKHillwalking.com and OIA websites where the public will be able to vote for their favourite products that will all be on display at the Caravan, Camping and Motorhome Show at the NEC in Birmingham, in February 2020. The winners including the overall ‘Product of the Year’ will then be announced at the OIA Conference & AGM in March 2020.
