Megan Carter-Davies wins Gold at World Orienteering Championships

GBR Megan Carter-Davies capped off a highly successful World Championships in Denmark last night by becoming World Champion in the Individual Sprint. This gold medal now added to her silver medals she won earlier in the week – silver in the Mixed Relay and individual silver in the Knock-Out Sprint.
Megan brings home to Wales a fantastic collection of three medals (gold and two silver) as well as the title of World Champion to her name.
Megan Carter-Davies becomes only the third British athlete to become World Champion following the footsteps of Yvette Baker in 1999 and Jamie Stevenson in 2003.
GBR Alice Leake also had an excellent individual sprint race at the World Championships winning the bronze medal.
